Vision And Values

Seek the Lost, Build Up the Found, & Transform the City Through Jesus Christ

This is the vision that God has given our church. We are so glad you are taking the time to read it. Our dream is that everyone who comes into contact with our church will be greatly impacted by this vision, and how it is lived out in the lives of our members.

Church of the Apostles is a community of people whose lives are being transformed by the grace of Jesus Christ. We know that we are lost without Jesus, and that his death on the cross paid the price for our sins and brought us into a right relationship with God. Because of this we gratefully seek to tell others about God’s amazing love through Jesus both here and around the world.

We believe that God “has begun a good work” in us, and that he will “carry it on to completion” until the day that Jesus Christ
returns for his people. So we work hard to help everyone who believes grow in faith, knowledge, wisdom and good works.

Jesus called his church the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world”. We believe that the Gospel not only prepares us for eternity but for life in this world as well. Because of this we are committed to serve the needs of the city of Raleigh in ways that bring about real change. In doing so, God will be glorified.

Our Core Values

At Apostles, we are committed to the following seven Core Values:

AUTHORITY {Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 2:42a, 2 Timothy 3:16-17}
We desire to surrender our lives unconditionally to the leadership of God the Father, through Jesus the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit.  We are committed to the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, and we are convinced that His Word transforms lives.

EXPECTANCY {Acts 2:43, Philippians 4:6-7, Proverbs 3:4-6}
We expect that God will be powerfully present to heal, equip, and transform our lives – whenever and wherever we meet together.  We expect that God will hear our prayers and that the witness and work of the church will flow from our individual and corporate communication with Him.

COMMUNITY {Matthew 18:20, Galatians 6:2, Acts 4:32-35}
We are committed to welcoming and accepting anyone who wants to explore and experience the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ and to seeing that everyone is engaged in community of the life of our church.

MATURITY {Matthew 5:3-12, Galatians 5:22-25, 1 Corinthians 13}
We desire to:
be known as a church where people care deeply for others around them
use all the spiritual gifts that God has given to us to build up His church
to see our congregation give sacrificially in a way that resembles how Jesus gave His life for us

DESTINY {Matthew 28:18-20, Revelation 7:9-10, Mark 13:10}
We are committed to:
sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone around us
planting new churches throughout the Triangle and beyond
supporting missionaries as they share the good news of Jesus Christ around the world

HISTORY {1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Matthew 9:16-18}
We believe in the sacramental nature of the church and value the Anglican distinctives in liturgy formed through the prayers, faith and experiences of our fathers in the faith.  meaningful church life combines the very best of ancient and future models.

THE CITY {Matthew 5:13-16, Luke 4:18-19}
We believe that the gospel transforms the way we approach every area of life (including the arts, business, sciences, government, media, and the academic world). Therefore, we are committed to equipping people to make an impact on the culture of our city.  We believe the gospel calls us to show practical care for the poor and broken of our city, and to help bring about God’s justice on earth.
