When the search team was formed to find our new Senior Pastor, it was tasked with seeking God’s will and being obedient to it. As a result, we entered a process that was both centered on the work of finding our long-term leadership and grounded in the hard work in listening to God. It was foundationally a discernment process that involved a high level of unity between all members of the search team and leadership council. Additionally, we listened to the congregation and the Lord to discern God’s longing for Apostles right now and in the future. That is what we began to refer to as the ‘heartbeat’ of Apostles. The place where God’s longing and calling for us was uniquely centered. Those helping steward that process, were encouraged by the sense of clarity and the complete unity around our identity and our needs as reflected in that heartbeat. As a result of the Lord’s faithfulness and guidance through this discernment process, we are thrilled to share that Nick Comiskey will be joining our church family, serving as our Senior Pastor. Nick and his wife, Meg, are excited to move to Raleigh and become a part of the Apostles community. Nick’s first Sunday will be July 11!
