Bio – Marsha Whyte

Marsha Whyte ~ Administrative Assistant

Raleigh has been my home city since birth, and I cannot imagine a better place to spend one’s childhood. I was born in the old Rex Hospital originally located on St. Mary’s Street, and grew up in a loving, Christian home in North Raleigh where my parents still live. I have one sibling, Kimberly, who also lives in Raleigh with her husband, and two boys.

I met my husband, Harry, during my sophomore year at Meredith College. A month after I graduated with a degree in Business Administration, we married and moved into a small duplex in West Raleigh. I began full-time employment in the summer of 1985, and through the next nine years and the birth of two children, I worked in both the retail and the mortgage industries. Our daughter, Chelsey, was born in 1988, and our son, Coleman, was born in 1993. In 1994, I left work in the corporate world to stay home full-time.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, going to movies, reading, walking, listening to music, studying modern architecture, and visiting art galleries. I am a BIG NC State fan and attend football games and the occasional basketball game to support the Pack. One of my favorite places in the world is Sunset Beach, NC, and I go whenever I can.
